Tips for the Season:

Time for New Windows!

There is still time left to cash in on the 2010 Consumer Energy Efficiency Tax Credit. You can get up to a $1500 tax credit for the installation of new windows on your primary residence. You’re in luck, WE DO WINDOWS! Please give us a call to get these purchased by the end of the year.

Time to Clean the Gutters!

Cleaning leaves from the yard? Don’t forget to look to the skies as well and take care of those gutters. Some of those leaves never made it to the ground. They may have landed in your gutter. Keeping gutters free and clear will allow rain water and the future snow fall from backing up under your shingles and creating water problems around your home.

Time to Disconnect the Hose!

Unless you plan on water that garden in the winter, now is a good time to disconnect those hoses before it gets too cold. It’s a good idea to find your house bib shut off INSIDE the house or crawl space. If you have a basement, find where the pipe comes out of the wall and look up, there should be a handle or shut-off located in that area. Turn it off and open the hose bib outside to allow water to drain. This ensures that your outside water spigots do not freeze over the winter and cause flooding inside the house.
